Carbon dioxide extinguishes fire by diluting the oxygen content of the space to a point where it will not support combustion. Reducing the oxygen will extinguish most fires. “Surface” or “Flash” type fires (Oils, paints, etc,) are quickly extinguished, “Smoldering” or “Deep-Seated” fires (baled cotton, clothing, etc.) are extinguished by prolonged action of a high concentration. Retaining the agent within the protected space affects the ability to avoid resignation. In addition, carbon dioxide has a cooling effect on the surrounding atmosphere, which has been found to be a benefit to extinguishing. |

The
extinguishing clean agent used for our Total Flooding Systems more commonly
known as FM-200 TM (HFC-227
ea) or in chemical named Heptafluoropropane (CF3CHFCF3).
FM-200TM Ozone Depleting Potential (ODP) is “Zero” and is considered nontoxic to humans concentrations necessary to extinguish most fires. FM-200TM is invented to substitute Halon 1301 as Halon 1301’s ODP value is still 16, however; their fire extinguishing efficiency is nearly equivalent. |

most efficiency extinguishing agent are commonly known as Halon 1301 or
in chemical named Bromotrifluoromethane which is also considered nontoxic
to humans concentrations necessary to extinguish most fires.
Affer discharge, Halon 1301 requires no cleanup making it extremely useful in applications where damage by other extinguishing methods would be prohibitive such as important documentary storage, electronic equipment-computer room and the closed hazard. Though Halon 1301 is not further produced in present but there are some special areas e.g. airplane that still need Halon 1301 since present the 100% Halon substitution could not be found. |
